How have agricultural practices and the role of agriculture changed during the last two hundred years? Group students and have each group select adifferent country. Challenge groups to prepare multimedia presentations about the agricultural heritage and evolutionof agriculture in their nations. Ask students to consider the impact of population growth and industrial development. How are citydwellers preserving traditional agricultural practices? After the presentations, challenge each group to develop an idea forpreserving an aspect of its country's agricultural heritage.Have students present their ideas and discuss.
